Children’s data, kept small, kept safe, given back.
What Medha keeps, who can see it, and how a family takes it back — in plain words.
Parents agree first
Nothing about a child’s learning is kept until a parent agrees. Consent can be changed at any time, and every change is recorded.
Only the child’s own school and family
A child’s details are seen by their family and their own school’s staff — never by another family or another school.
See it, download it, erase it
A parent can see what is kept, download a copy, or erase it. Erasing is protected by the parent’s PIN; there are 30 days to change your mind, then it is deleted for good.
No ads, no selling, no scores
Medha shows no advertisements, sells no data, and never ranks or labels children.
The AI helper never sees names
When a parent or teacher asks Ask Medha a question, children’s names are hidden before anything is sent to the AI model.
It never listens
Medha speaks to children; it does not record or listen to them. Children answer by tapping.
Kendriya Vidyalaya parents’ details: locked
Answers to the Student details link are locked on the parent’s phone; only the class teacher’s lock word opens them, on her computer. Medha cannot read them. They are deleted once entered in Samagam, or 60 days after the last date.
Photos kept private
ID card photos are kept in a private store and shown only through short-lived links to the child’s own school and family.
For schools
Each school’s data is kept apart from every other school’s. Sign-ins, consent changes, role changes and data exports are recorded in an audit log the school’s admin can see. Medha is built to India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act: the school decides what is collected, and families keep the right to see and erase their child’s data.
